Shuli Sadé created 26 Morphorm Sculpture during 1991-1992.These sculpture follow an earlier body of work including Architectural Hieroglyphs, (7' x 10'- 4”, 1989) of three dimensional objects made of Cedar Shingles echoing fictional vocabulary of architecture mounted over flat plywood panels. The

crossroad between 3 dimensional objects placed on 2 dimensional flat

surface led to the creation of Morphorms, a series of free

standing sculpture, (between 18” x 27.5 x 16" to 25 x 16 x 15"), made of Cedar Shingles mixed with plaster, tar, Acrylic paint, glue and Bees wax.

The process of creating the forms was an  act of layering until the shapes find their own balance guided by her imagination. A large scale (18’ x 14’ x 17') Morphorm #7 was built of rail wood and steel, temporarily installed at Sculptors

of the Next Century exhibition at Socrates Park, Long Island

City in New York (1994). Her present digital work echoes on the

layering methods she once used in her sculptural work.
